Seven architecture and design events in November from Dezeen Events Guide

Design Mumbai, Dezeen Awards Party, BAQ and BDNY are among the architecture and design events featured in Dezeen Events Guide this November.

Other events taking place during the month include festivals Dubai Design Week, Design Canberra Festival and Seoul Design Festival.

Design Canberra Festival
1 to 10 November, Australia

The 2024 edition of Design Canberra Festival takes place across the city over 10 days, this year following the theme Regenerate.

The theme responds to the climate emergency, asking designers to no longer just think sustainably but to reserve the damage caused through regeneration.

The event will present a programme of exhibitions, talks, markets, tours, open studios and workshops.

Dubai Design Week
5 to 10 November, UAE

Annual festival Dubai Design Week will run six days of exhibitions, talks, fairs, workshops, markets and installations, showcasing contemporary Middle Eastern design.

One of the largest events taking place during the festival is the Downtown Design fair, welcoming visitors from 6 to 9 November at the Waterfront Terrace.

The festival explores a range of disciplines, including fashion, art and architecture through more than 100 activities.

Design Mumbai
6 to 9 November, India

Trade show Design Mumbai will host its first edition in November, with a four-day exhibition located at Jio World Garden.

The event will spotlight furniture, kitchen and bathroom equipment, accessories and materials, with the showcase paying homage to the historic creative culture of the city.

More than 80 brands are participating in the inaugural event, with talks and panel discussions led by over 50 international speakers, including Designed In India, Made For The World: How To Engage A Global Audience, led by Dezeen's co-CEO Benedict Hobson.

BDNY
10 to 11 November, USA

BDNY is a yearly trade show, highlighting more than 700 brands in the exhibition hall while organising an awards programme, talks series and networking opportunities.

The two-day event will spotlight furniture, lighting and textiles, designed for hospitality, such as restaurants and bars, hotels, spas and cruise ships.

Dezeen is a media partner of BDNY 2024.

Seoul Design Festival
13 to 17 November, Korea

More than 200 brands will be on display at the 2024 edition Seoul Design Festival, which presents the Illustration, Young Designer and Design Spot exhibitions.

Taking place over five days, the event aims to facilitate creativity and commerciality through the exhibitions, one-to-one meetings for buyers and designers and a seminar on 13 November.

The festival will be located at the COEX convention centre.

BAQ
18 to 22 November, Ecuador

Architecture conference Pan-American Architecture Biennial of Quito (BAQ) hosts talks from 36 speakers across five days.

Marking its 25th edition, the upcoming event follows the theme Convergences: Architecture Landscape, addressing the relationship between design and the environment.

The event expects to welcome more than 2,000 visitors each day for its programme of keynotes and panel discussions and the accompanying awards series.

Dezeen Awards Party
26 November, UK

Dezeen Awards hosts its annual party, this year inviting a global network of architects and designers to Hackney Church in London.

The event will start at 7:00pm, launching with a Perrier-Jouët champagne reception, followed by canapés, music and the announcement of the winners.

There are 41 awards categories, covering architecture, design, interiors and sustainability.
