This list is partly a bit of fun after all the hard work compiling the Dezeen Hot List – because genuine celebrities who engage with architecture and design are rare. Saying that, Kanye West (number five) has a history of holding forth on the subject, while musician Imogen Heap (number six) was the subject of the most popular video we've ever made.
Beyoncé (number two) and Kate Moss (number three) are on the list almost by accident, but the death of first-placed David Bowie led to a genuinely revealing interview with Jonathan Barnbrook, his graphic designer, which went viral.
