GamFratesi worked with Gubi to create the custom furniture filling Paris' House of Denmark, which is now being launched as a collection at Stockholm Furniture Fair.

The Maison du Danemark, located on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, encompasses two restaurants – one a high-end brasserie named Flora Danica, and a second fine-dining experience named Copenhague.

The space was completely renovated by the Danish-Italian design duo GamFratesi, who chose materials and colour schemes to create a classic Danish environment fused with a Parisian aesthetic.

Throughout both restaurants, contemporary items are paired with classic mid-century Danish pieces, as well as a collection of products designed by GamFratesi specifically for the space.

"The two restaurants express two different personalities, according to their functions: Flora Danica as high-end brasserie and Copenhague fine dining," said GamFratesi.

Flora Danica, on the ground floor of the restaurant, has been furnished with new chairs designed by GamFratesi for Gubi named Beetle. Each has been upholstered in various textiles that complement the surrounding soft green and grey palette.

The brasserie benefits from plenty of natural light, with direct access to a terrace. One wall is decorated with botanical drawings, and green plants are used to bring an element of nature into the restaurant.

In Flora Danica, diners sit at another custom-made GamFratesi Gubi piece called the TS Table, which founder Joe Gubi describes as being "expressive".

"Paris can handle a more decorated and expressive table instead of just an ordinary column table and it was no doubt that the TS Dining Table should be part of our permanent collection," he said.

Copenhague offers a moodier dining experience, with dark blue walls paired with grey and black detailing.

Raf Simons Kvadrat textiles are used for the deep blue curtains and tablecloths, with the only white detail in the space being the plates and bowls.

For this restaurant, GamFratesi designed a four-legged version of its Masculo chair. Walls are decorated with the brand's Cobra Lamps and large mirrors.

"A chair with armrest was requested to match the classic and refined atmosphere. The client loved the Masculo Chair because of its comfort and strong references to Danish design classics from the 50s," said Gubi.

The TS Table, Beetle Chair and updated Masculo chair all launched at this year's Stockholm Furniture Fair, which is taking place until 11 February.

Other collections on show at the fair include Note Design Studio's deliberately unassuming tables and stools for Fogia, and Wästberg's Holocene collection of non-electric lights.
