Watch Will Alsop and John Marx talk about performative architecture at World Architecture Festival 2017
British architect Will Alsop joined American architect John Marx in conversation on day two of World Architecture Festival 2017 in Berlin.
Alsop and Marx discussed performative architecture, design as street theatre and creating performance spaces as part of a public social ritual.
Alsop is the principal of London-based studio All Design, and has completed projects such as the Stirling Prize-winning Peckham Library in south east London and unveiled plans for an "unusual" skyscraper in Vauxhall, London. John Marx is the design principal of San Francisco based architecture firm Form 4 Architecture.
Dezeen was media partner for World Architecture Festival 2017, which this year took place in Berlin in conjunction with the Inside festival of interior design.
We broadcasted a number of talks and seminars from both events – including talks by Kim Cook and Pierre de Meuron – as well as conducted video interviews with the winners.
World Architecture Festival took place from 15-17 November 2017 at Arena Berlin. Take a look at the full programme.
