This project located in Osaka, Japan, took on the client's wishes for a home with an open interior where people, space and objects connect.
This Japanese home doesn't isolate family members between walls, but rather encourages togetherness. In the process of finding a layout that would allow all spaces to become one, we came up with the idea of a sequence of floors that spiral up through the volume of the house. The result is a spatial composition of versatile areas that can adapt to the family's lifestyle. In this house, architecture, objects and people become one.
