Shortlisted for housing project of the year at Dezeen Awards 2019, Entre Pinos by Taller Hector Barroso is a housing development with terracotta-coloured walls.

Each identical house designed by Taller Hector Barroso consists of six monolithic volumes in varying heights with an interior courtyard. On one side, the volumes are closed and solid and on the other they are open to the forest, bringing natural light and ventilation. Boundaries between the interior and exterior are blurred by interlinking the interior with terraces, courtyards and the garden. To help this cluster of houses blend into their forest setting, the architecture studio chose to cover the walls in a render made using local soil. The row of five weekend houses are positioned among tall pine trees.
