Dutch architect Ben van Berkel is the founder and principal of architecture practice UNStudio.

Van Berkel set up Amsterdam-based UNStudio with Caroline Bos in 1988. The practice describes itself as specialists within architecture, urban development and infrastructure.

UNStudio's projects include the Erasmus bridge in Rotterdam, Keppel Cove Marina and Clubhouse in China and the Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany.

Van Berkel holds the Kenzo Tange Visiting Professor Chair at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, which he was awarded in 2011. He has lectured and taught at universities around the world.

The architect also founded digital-focused UNSense in 2018, which develops human-centric tech solutions for the built environment. Aiming to make buildings healthier and cities smarter, the startup explores how the architecture industry can keep up with technological developments.
