Nienke Hoogvliet
Dutch designer Nienke Hoogvliet is the founder of Studio Nienke Hoogvliet.
Hoogvliet founded her studio for material research, experimental and conceptual design in 2013. The studio aims to raise awareness and change perspectives of social and environmental problems in the textile, leather and food industries by creating innovative alternatives.
The studio’s projects include a furniture collection made from woven seaweed and bowls and tables made from toilet paper. Its work has been exhibited worldwide, including at London's V&A, Cooper Hewitt in New York and Paris' Centre Pompidou.
Hoogvliet spoke on the post-plastic materials panel at Dezeen Day 2019.
