No Footprint House in Costa Rica has been designed to complement its natural surroundings and minimise the impact of construction.

The first prototype of No Footprint House is based on a systemic component design for sustainable residential typologies, the first of its kind in Central America.

Placed in a humid tropical climate, the building responds to its surrounding habitat by passive climate control through natural ventilation and solar shading.

The project seeks for integral sustainability in terms of its environmental, economic, social and spatial performance.

This project has been longlisted in the rural house category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
