Dutch firm Studio Piet Boon has transformed a former boat warehouse into a private residence in a quiet, leafy part of Amsterdam.
The full interior design was conceived from a blank canvas. Various functions were relocated to create an open layout.
Optimal privacy was created by moving the kitchen to an upper floor and creating an adjacent indoor roof terrace, reinforcing the connection between the built environment and nature.
The ton-sur-ton colour palette is implemented throughout the house, giving it a serene and harmonious atmosphere where the owner's art collection gets the attention it deserves.
This project has been longlisted in the house interior project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
