Canvas House is a renovation of a four-storey co-living space in Singapore with all-white interiors
Ministry of Design blanketed the historic co-living space with a layer of white to provide a canvas for the future. The studio revealed historical preservation in concentrated spots by creating shadows of old timber and layers of revealed brick, as well as intricate details of re-purposed and upcycled furniture.
The house is intended to be a neutral white canvas for the future to be dreamt upon, rather than a homage to the past, which this is reinforced with a text-based neon art piece that showcases a Thomas Jefferson quote.
This project has been longlisted in the house interior project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
