Architecture studio Mas-aqui has renovated an apartment in Barcelona into a multi-level home lined with wood and ceramic tiles.
The project required a total transformation of a two-story semi-basement house in poor condition, located in a sloping terrain in Barcelona.
To create a double-height space, a wooden forging was introduced that works as a translucent filter between spaces, bathing them in warmth and at the same time creating a slatted sculpture with great visual strength, like a gently wrapped up Yurikago cradle.
This project has been longlisted in the apartment interior category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
