Dendê Duratex House is a tribute to the Brazilian state of Bahia, birthplace of Nildo José, founder of NJ+ Architects.
The apartment is a 155 square-meter residence, with a fluid and minimalist space. The studio apartment escapes the colorful Bahia stereotype, yet expresses in all details NJ+ Architect's special connection with the state in a sober way, showing art, bossa and poetry.
The house inspires a dreamlike nature through the abundance of pure textures, where the composition and combination of different elements provides a harmonic essence, that transcends design, and constitutes a samba-filled project.
This project has been longlisted in the apartment interior category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
