123 Architects has converted a two-storey industrial building into a photography studio with a futuristic aesthetic in Beijing.
The studio was designed to appear as an art gallery with a surrealistic atmosphere. The futuristic design of the building compliments its industrial history, creating a surrealistic atmosphere.
The facade comprises organic surfaces that curve away from the original front, forming space for a balcony that extends from the second floor.
The second storey features a circular-shaped lounge, with walls covered in fabrics cut into bold graphic shapes.
This project has been longlisted in the rebirth project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
