WilkinsonEyre has designed a bridge that enhances the waterfront in Copenhagen and reaffirms the city's reputation as the world's best place for cycling.

At 160-metres-long, the bridge has become a sculptural object and spectacle in Copenhagen's landscape, establishing itself within the context of the city and Inner Harbour. Twisting as it follows the sweeping curve of the great arc of ramparts and moat of Christianshavn, the graceful steel structure is shaped acutely to divide light from shade and arranged as two wings, which only become broken when the two swinging sections open for marine traffic.

This project has been longlisted in the infrastructure project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
