Shanhai Art Museum is nestled into its West Mountain and Dian Lake surroundings in Kunming, China.

The focus of the interior design is on the overall creation of local orientation.

The lighting, artwork, space music, furniture and logo systems are all extracted from the elements of clouds, water, mountains, stones, ruin paradise, horses and other elements in the local natural geography.

Focusing on the theme of "Dream as a Horse", IDMatrix used deconstruction, breaking up and restructuring to naturally integrate the indoors and outdoors.

This project has been longlisted in the civic and cultural interior project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
