Ahmed Sangaré
Ivorian architect and city planner Ahmed Sangaré is the co-founder of Totem Architects. The young practice describes his conceptual approach as resolutely contemporary but proudly rooted in African cultural heritage.
Totem Architects’ projects span residential, cultural, commercial and office buildings design. Recently delivered projects include the Africa headquarters of FrieslandCampina.
As a city planner, Ahmed has participated in local initiatives aimed at understanding and alleviating issues encountered in disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods in Abidjan.
He has also presented several papers in the annual congresses of the International Society of City and Regional Planners, co-chairing the track about “Transforming human settlements” during the 52nd congress in Durban, South Africa in 2016.
