The Design Museum in Helsinki showcases an exhibition that highlights and examines loungewear, its history and its influence on modern fashion.
Comfort Revolution looks at modern-day loungewear staples, nightwear and undergarments in an exploration of how fashion, clothes and style have become more relaxed and comfortable over a 100-year period.
"The most comfortable of the garments dominate the street scene... Instead of rigid dress codes, our outfit choices are determined by the pursuit of well-being and comfort," said exhibition curator Liisa Jokinen.
Alongside its loungewear retrospective, the exhibition looks at dressing for the future and uses the coronavirus pandemic as a case study for the need for comfort dressing.
Comfort Revolution takes place from 11 June to 29 August 2021 at Design Museum, Korkeavuorenkatu 23, 00130 Helsinki, Finland,
