COP 26, the 26th edition of the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties, brings together climate experts, heads of state, leaders and campaigners to tackle climate change.
The conference, which takes place in Glasgow, UK, invites over 190 world leaders and thousands of government officials, businesses, citizens and campaigners for twelve days of talks.
The aim of the conference is to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which aim to stabilise the levels of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere at a level that prevents the most dangerous potential impacts of climate change from occurring.
The event features a dedicated Cities, Regions and Built Environment Day to discuss the built environment's contribution to global warming. The sector is estimated to contribute around 40 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions.
