Mar Plus Ask has designed two small off-grid houses in the mountains of Mallorca.
The houses are overlooking the Mediterranean Sea on man-made stone terraces surrounded by millennial old olive trees. Here only the grassing sheep and the wind are heard.
The Purple House, a transformed tool shed, serves for cooking and dining while The Pink House reminiscent of man's first home, a cave, is built into the terraces with a bed, a fireplace and under a skylight, a shower - supplied from a spring. The colours are exactly complementary to the olive leaves - making a vivid optic effect looking back into the landscape.
This project has been longlisted in the small building category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
