The pavilion is located in the southeast of China within the Fujian Province and serves as a marketplace.
The design explores a replicable prototype as a generator for rural areas, integrating the main function of product trading with multi-adapted village activities to boost rural life. Traditional construction techniques are used to embrace the modern generic space and iconic form, and the materials are either recycled or recyclable. This project is part of a research program series that explores rural self-guided regeneration, integrating materials, techniques, space, and local life.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable building category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
