This plywood-lined loft extension housing a child’s bedroom is conceived of as a ‘Treehouse’ - a perfect hideaway to rest and play, atop a north London family home.
Childhood memories of hide-and-seek games in the attic, sunny afternoons making dens in the trees, and secret rooms with views over treetops were imagined as part of the design process.
A plywood desk and reading space sit below a frameless dormer window, creating a perfect spot to study or relax. A shower room and built-in storage have also been inserted into the tight loft space, accessed by a bespoke plywood stair.
This project has been longlisted in the small interior category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
