Sense of Self is a bathhouse and spa situated in a converted warehouse in Melbourne's inner-north.

While its roots are planted firmly in ancient traditions of bathing, Sense of Self expands on the contemporary notion of wellbeing with its no-bullshit language and approach to self-care.

By challenging the trend of leisure and relaxation as a performative activity, Sense of Self invites its patrons to cultivate better, healthier relationships with their bodies and themselves.

The space draws on the bathhouses of Europe, North Africa and Japan to deliver a unique wellness experience in Australia - a rich and tactile study in Mediterranean Brutalism.

This project has been longlisted in the leisure and wellness interior category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
