The client requested Firm Architects design a special private residence in Amsterdam with the largest usable floor space possible.

Sustainable, unique, made to measure. Firm architects designed and realised a conceptual living environment from scratch. The starting point for the design was a new elevation on an old basis. In the design, the entire space is visibly "cut through" at a height of 95 centimetres above the floor. Everything above the "section" is a new interpretation and everything below a reflection of the old.

The conceptual approach to the space, all custom-made elements, and sustainability led to a unique design.

This project has been longlisted in the apartment interior category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
