Bags: Inside Out at the V&A, curated by Lucia Savi, features 300 items from designer handbags to despatch boxes, vanity cases to military rucksacks, exploring our longstanding fascination with the bag.

The design responds to the duality of bags - both symbolic and intimately private - by creating two very different experiences across both levels of the Fashion Gallery. Downstairs, rich, colourful and intimate, reflects the interiors and linings of bags. Upstairs, outward facing and symbolic, displays bags in windows of a miniature cityscape, and a theatrical workshop table presents an opportunity to get up close to the making process.

This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
