Hong Kong based designer Michael Young worked with us to develop an elegant stacking chair with a shell made from 100% post-consumer waste.
Inspired by a 1950s' Australian café chair, the Richard chair is comprised of two metal loops, overlapping in a way that allows stacking, with an ergonomically moulded, 100% recycled PET felt seat.
Each chair shell is made using over 100 plastic bottles. By reclaiming value from post-consumer waste, the Richard chair plays one small part in our road to re-valuing plastic.
This project has been longlisted in the seating design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
