Beyond Biomimicry is a collection of ecologically empowered wearable devices that are grown around the human body.
Created using new algorithms simulating natural growth patterns, these 3d wearable forms demonstrate how nature would grow in unnatural environments, like on the human body. Each wearable form is paired with an interspecies collaborator, such as living slime mold, evolving our technology beyond biomimicry, as an active participant in our ecosystem. Beyond Biomimicry is a call to decenter the human in the design process by allowing nature to act as the designer herself, in hopes of ecological equality.

This project has been longlisted in the wearable design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
