Interior Design BA (Hons) at University of East London

The Interior Design BA (Hons) course at University of East London allows students to explore all sectors of interior design and develop essential skills to find their design voice.

School: University of East London
Course: Interior Design BA (Hons)
Location: London
Course dates: September 2024 to June 2027
Application deadline: 21 September 2024

Our course will give you the educational and creative framework – and the necessary contacts – to launch you on your path to becoming an interior designer. From the outset, you'll set about amassing a huge range of skills, including drawing, prototyping your designs, model-making, measuring and documenting spaces and buildings.

You'll study design in all its forms - architectural, commercial and retail, residential, furniture, set and exhibition designs. Much of the work will be done on your feet as you visit local sites and examine what makes them good.

You'll enjoy frequent visits to the rich cultural array of galleries, shops and museums on our doorstep in London. We have excellent links with the local community, and our students spend a lot of time developing design ideas for specific projects such as restoring historical sites in the East End, or designing a new community hub.

Course overview:

Year 01 – developing drawing skills, workshops and exploring identity
Year 02 – prototypes, software skills and finding a ‘design voice’
Year 03 – live projects, professional practice - employment ready

Please see our Dezeen School Shows posts for more examples of students' work here and here.
