BRH+ has created an eco-sustainable winery in the heart of the Piedmontese hills in Italy to minimise impact on the environment.
The project is a building in the heart of the Piedmontese Alta Langa devoted to the production of natural wines.
Located on a hilly relief rich in vineyards and woods, it is conceived to integrate and harmonise with the landscape. The architecture is designed as a fragment of the territory, with a continuous cladding made of terracotta elements.
With its simple geometric shapes, the building expresses an original reinterpretation of vernacular architecture that eliminates superfluous decoration.
Construction materials favour local and eco-sustainable products, preferring solutions which reduce the need for maintenance and ensure that, in a possible future demolition of the building, the recovery and recycling of the largest number of building materials limits the footprint left by the building.
This project has been longlisted in the business building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
