Atelier Tao+C has designed the Ziin Beijing Store in Beijing, China.

This project was intended to renovate an existing 1960s textile warehouse into a new luxury showroom for domestic furniture brand, Ziin.

The architects sought to balance the relationship between the existing site with its new functions and objects by placing two intersecting frameworks, rotated to detach from the original walls – thus forming independent nested buildings within the space.

Consistent with the structural exploration and candid expression embodied in the products of Ziin, the architects worked with a bare structural approach and expressed the narrative of the structure itself within the interiors of the building.

This project has been longlisted in the rebirth project category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
