Cabin ANNA has created a modular solution to connecting with nature through simple design and innovative use of materials.
The project is a structure with two protective sliding shells that allow users to open the space and become part of their natural surroundings. The outer shell is made of wood to keep the warmth inside when temperatures drop, while the inner shell is made of double glass to keep the rain out or let the sun according to the weather. These can be opened or closed interchangeably dependent on the user's needs.
The design responds to the environment and moves with the rhythm of nature to integrate the user in their setting. The materials are a combination of Accoya wood, birch ply and aluminium, all of which can be completely separated and reused.
This project has been longlisted in the small building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
