Comley Bank is located in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

This project was an 1800s bakery built on the ground floor of a classic Edinburgh tenement before structural work commenced in 2014 to convert the property into a residential space.

Cabins in the City, who purchased the property in 2020, were excited by the blank canvas and wanted to create a dwelling informed by its origins and original features.

The designers wanted an "organic, open, warm sanctuary within the city that retained a connection to its commercial past with the exposed wall informing colour and material choice."

Ultimately, the aim of the project was to create a space of architectural and design importance with longstanding relevance.

This project has been longlisted in the apartment interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
