LimTaeHee Design Studio has designed Cafe Camellia in Jeju-do, South Korea.

This project contains the philosophy of "long-lasting, elaborated, and innovative" for the interiors of the space.

Surrounded by dazzling red camellia flowers which is the symbol of the cafe, the interior of it looks rather calm and stable at a glance.

"Our intention [was] to withdraw several local elements of the nature which are actually more dynamic," said LimTaeHee Design Studio. "These are characterising Jeju Island where the climate and the geology are quite different from the mainland of Korea."

Wind, cloud, water, stone, and soil were chosen by the design team for those elements in the roof, table, stream, and several ornaments.

This project has been longlisted in the restaurant and bar interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
