Ebba Architects has designed a furniture collection that calls into question the very function it serves.
The collection has been presented and produced in collaboration with London based gallery Béton Brut.
These six pieces sit on liminal ground between art and function, organic and rational. Made from sustainably sourced solid oak, the Low Collection also combines modern manufacture and traditional craftsmanship, where each piece has been hand-finished. Curvilinear forms are extruded with precision, or cleanly crosscut to reveal the quality of the end-grain.
The group presents a robust yet contemporary language of sensual forms which together with the oak make an almost timeless collection.
This project has been longlisted in the furniture design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
