Yuri Suzuki and Alter-Projects have produced an interactive work of public art in London created as a playful meeting point post-lockdown.
Sonic Bloom is a community-focused, multi-sensory installation exploring the nature of communication through the interactive deployment of sound, curated by Alter-Projects and designed by sound artist and designer, Yuri Suzuki.
The installation is a network of bright colourful horn-shaped elements that together create an interactive flower. The sculpture amplifies the sounds absorbed from the surroundings and transports voice recordings from people at street level through its primary-coloured stems.
This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
