Forma Rosa Studio has created a collection that harnesses technology to highlight the beauty of nature.

The collection is named after a natural mineral texture composed of many rounded segments and features two designs, the large Botryoidal Lamp and the mini, both in custom glaze colourways.

Inspired by technology, art and natural phenomena, the formations of its shell have been digitally grown through coding following a fractal-like pattern similar to nature, and then materialized in an experimental process of handcrafted ceramic and glaze-work by artisans in Peru.

The result sees a return to handcraft from a place of technology, defined by a cultural clash between the handmade and the digitally designed.

This project has been longlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
