Jo Nagasaka / Schemata Architects has created a concept store for an outdoor brand in South Korea.
The project is a continuation of the Arario Project, a community development project in Cheju Island, South Korea. It stands as a concept store for Kolon Sport, an outdoor brand whose motto is sustainability.
The identity of the brand is synonymous with giving new value to discarded items by upcycling discarded inventory. As well as the products, the fixtures, interior design and architecture were embodied within the resultant project design in a manner consistent with the brand's philosophy, employing elements such retail fixtures created from recycled discarded marine debris to highlight local environmental issues.
This project has been shortlisted in the large retail interior category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
