Fora has designed Victoria Greencoat Place in London, United Kingdom.
This project provides a unique space that makes a warming impression from the moment you step through the door.
The interior design celebrates the building's rich history and authentic materiality, complemented by contemporary features and finishes. The work also enhances sustainable operation through initiatives such as new glazing, a new VRF system and sensor control lighting.
Dating back to the late 19th century, the original building was formerly the warehousing, storerooms and food halls of the iconic Army and Navy store – the design has reimagined the building with elegant gestures to its history.
In a contemporary juxtaposition, a calm, soft interior palette contrasts the building’s industrial shell. A light colour palette, including tiles, stains and textures, is used throughout the interior. Soft, lime-washed oak is paired with richly-textured fabric, and arch detailing in both fit-out and materials gesture to the arches in the original halls, uniting the old and new.
This project has been shortlisted in the large workspace interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
