Peca has created a table inspired by Mexico's volcanic terrain.

The project was born of admiration for volcanic stone, leading to a design that honours the material in the form of a sculptural table with a rich, porous surface sitting on top of three cylindrical monoliths.

Etched lines run through the tabletop, guiding the eye towards three soft and inviting polished discs that flow from the monoliths beneath them as a metaphor for the story of Mexico's volcanoes being born from the Earth's core.

The result is a design that calls to the mysteries of nature and their sacred play as part of the everyday.

This project has been shortlisted in the furniture design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
