Public vote winner for homeware design of the year: Raw Color has designed Temperature Textiles in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
This project is focused on communicating climate change through textiles.
Temperature Textiles range from knitted blankets to scarves and socks, designed to carry climate data. Textiles are aesthetic carriers of data that are designed to visualise global warming.
"The project aims to bring climate-related data to its essence and manifest it into a series of textile objects that provide warmth to the user," said designers Raw Color.
The three represented data groups are temperature change, sea level rise and emission. During the research, these fields have been considered as the most relevant drivers and causes.
