Jakobsson lamp by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for Yamagiwa
Dezeen Showroom: Japanese lighting brand Yamagiwa and late Swedish designer Hans-Agne Jakobsson have created a range of lamps that cast light "reminiscent of a bonfire".
Hans-Agne Jakobsson's eponymous Jakobsson lamps are characterised by light shades made from concentric bands of naturally dried pine wood.
The design marries Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics, which both celebrate the materiality of wood and are known for using warm-toned lighting to create cosy interiors.
Jakobsson lamps are manufactured by Japanese artisans that carefully dry and bend the pine into shape, highlighting the growth rings present in the timber.
"The soft and gentle light cast through the shades is reminiscent of a bonfire and dusk," said the brand.
Lamps are available in pendant, floor and table lamp variations.
