David Rockwell
Architect and designer David Rockwell is founder of New York-based practice Rockwell Group.
Rockwell’s recent work includes The Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Centre in New York, production design for the 93rd Oscars at Los Angeles Union Station and John Hopkins University Student Centre.
Notable projects include Warner Music Group headquarters in Los Angeles, Edition Hotel in New York, Ted Theatre in Vancouver and set design for more than 60 productions, including Take Me Out, She Loves Me, Kinky Boots and Hairspray.
Rockwell is a recipient of multiple international honours, including a Tony Award for Best Science Design for She Loves Me, AIANY President’s Award in 2015, the National Design Award for outstanding achievements in Interior Design in 2008 and the Presidential Design Award.
In addition, Rockwell serves as a Chair Emeritus of the Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS. He is also a board member of Citymeals on Wheels and the New York Restoration Project.
