ByoungSoo Cho
Architect ByoungSoo Cho is founder of Seoul-based studio BCHO Partners.
Since founding the practice in 1994, Cho has worked with disciplines including stone masons, product designers, wood workers and engineers.
He has taught at Harvard University, Universität Kaiserslautern and Montana State University. In 2014 he was a chair professor at the Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark.
Cho has received awards such as the Korean Institute of Architects (KIA) Award for Hanil Visitors Center and Guest House, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Montana Honor Awards for Earth House and the AIA Northwest and Pacific Region Award for Shape Concrete Box House.
In 2022 he was appointed director of the 2023 Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism. He established the theme 'Land Architecture, Land Urbanism', which addresses long-term plans for the city, including eco-friendly solutions and new infrastructure.
