Neil Pinder

Neil Pinder is an honorary professor at the Bartlett School of Architecture and head of architecture at Graveney School in south London.

Pinder has started a number of initiatives to improve access to architecture and creative industries for people from marginalised backgrounds which have received national recognition. These include HomeGrown Plus, Celebrating Architecture, GLAM (Gucci, Louis Vuitton and me) and the architectural exchange initiative NY-LON (New York-London).

He also created Demystifying Cambridge University, an initiative to inspire students from ethnic minorities to look at Cambridge University as an option for architecture and engineering.

Pinder was a guest speaker at the first Dezeen day and has been a guest speaker at RIBA events encouraging teachers to deliver architecture in the classroom. He also collaborated with the London Festival of Architecture to curate a brutalist photography exhibition and has led architectural workshops at the Royal College of Art.

Pinder has received numerous accolades including a Contribution to the Profession from the Architects' Journal and a RIBA Fellowship, he has also been awarded the New London Architecture Hidden Hero award, a Lifetime Award by Sound Advice and Open House Teacher of the Year.
