Polysmiths has designed The Cork House in London, United Kingdom.

Using cork and other sustainable materials sourced during the Covid-19 pandemic, architecture studio Polysmiths designed and built a three-bedroom house on an infill plot in East London.

The project aims to tackle multiple global challenges faced today, including how to utilise unused infill plots to build new homes, as well as how to build adaptability when facing fast-changing socio-economic landscapes.

The result is a light, efficient home using sustainable materials less commonly found in typical construction, built with the future in mind.

This project has been longlisted in the urban house category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
