Min Zhuo has reconstructed the Fish Pavilion of Bamboo Shadow in Changxing, China.
Located in a preserved scenic area where bamboo is widely grown, the Fish Pavilion of Bamboo Shadow endeavoured to reestablish its connection with nature.
Local bamboo weaving craft was reinterpreted as a construction technology of architectural envelope.
"The bamboo pavilion is shaped into an abstract and symbolic fish, bearing a good meaning of prosperity," said Min Zhou.
With sunlight filtering through bamboo slats, the pavilion makes for a peaceful space with rafters on hot days in the valley.
This project has been longlisted in the civic project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
