Oskar Kohnen Studio has transformed the interiors of The Standard in Ibiza, a former movie theatre turned boutique hotel.

The Standard's in-house design team aimed to embrace the island's bohemian and "flower power" history, with 67 guest suites exuding a pared-back beach-villa ambiance. Natural materials, light woods, layered textures and retro-influenced furnishings enhance the design.

Meanwhile, public spaces such as the ground-floor restaurant and rooftop lounge embrace maximalist aesthetics with rich colours, patterns and tropical prints, offering contrast with the crisp white exterior of the building.

This project has been longlisted in the hotel and short stay interior category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
