Wondaleaf has designed the Wondaleaf Hammock Wheelchair.

"Bedridden patients are difficult to care for, even more so if you are a single caregiver with no additional assistance," said Wondaleaf. "Many caregivers resort to manual lifting, [where] improper lifting techniques lead to back injuries."

The Wondaleaf Hammock Wheelchair is a new personal and intimate all-in-one patient lifter-wheelchair hybrid that mimics the cradling of another human being.

It can transfer bedridden patients to and from any platform, including the car or floor.

Its unique design allows caregivers to single-handedly transfer and care for patients, is designed to make transfers fast and efficient and eliminates lifting completely by the caregiver.

This project has been longlisted in the product design (health and wellbeing) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
