Atelier Jones Design has redesigned the Visy Recycling's Education Room in Auckland, New Zealand.

This project was the redesign of Visy Recycling's Education Room – an important space for public recycling education.

The objective was to convert the existing drab and cramped space into a lively, versatile environment.

"Through the strategic use of colour, modular displays, flexible seating and movable cabinetry, we successfully maximized the limited footprint," said Atelier Jones Design.

Sustainability played a significant role, with 85 percent of the existing fit-out repurposed. The result is a vibrant and functional space that promotes engagement and learning about recycling for Auckland's 1.6 million residents.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable interior category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
