Human Material Loop is a material innovation company, founded in the Netherlands.

Human Material Loop develops technologies, materials and products from waste human hair to deliver high-performing products for the textile industry with zero negative impact on the environment.

"Our mission is to cut the pollution of the textile industry by integrating a new biowaste into the production system," said Human Material Loop. "Human hair is the same keratin protein fibre as wool, let's use this waste stream to develop new materials for a sustainable future."

This project has been longlisted in the material innovation category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
